I thought I would use this pot just for pasta but I have found it is a perfect size for tons of things. I use it like a crock pot for whole dinners. I also use it for mixing large portions of spagetti sauce, stew and chili. Then I freeze the extra portions. I like the oval shape because things aren't as crowded as in a regular round pot.
