Once upon a time I had a cast aluminum version of this cheese slicer. I probably used it for 20 years before the wire finally broke. Since then it's been a search for a cutter that would do the job without the wire stretching or breaking. I have hopes for this one.

My wife hated our old chesse slicer and it never made uniform cuts. The worst thing about this one is that it's not adjustable, but if you like thick slices, this is your best bet.

This replaces one already in the kitch for about 50yrs. Trouble is: the old one can be tightened (cutting wire), the new one is a one shot deal!
