Product Description:

Manufactured by Zojirushi, a leading housewares manufacturer since 1918, this top-of-the-line rice cooker and steamer will make up to 10 cups of rice in just minutes. An automatic Keep Warm function keeps the rice warm until you're ready to serve, and the stay-cool handles let you move it without the use of gloves. The stainless steel steaming tray and nonstick cooking pan are both removable. Also included is a measuring cup and rice paddle for scooping and serving. Note: Although you can use this cooker to prepare brown rice, an additional step is involved. You must first soak the brown rice in water before cooking, at least four hours or overnight for best results.

5 BUY ME!
April 10, 2014
By Rosario, VA
This is the simplest (1 button), humblest (only comes in white), least expensive Zojirushi rice cooker. But it is my favorite and makes perfect rice, batch after batch after batch. This is my second one - the first one gave up after many decades of frequent use. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: BE SURE TO WAS YOUR RICE AT LEAST 3 RINSINGS. People have complained this cooker 'spits'. This is due to the starch in the unwashed rice - kinda like pasta.

1 Worst rice cooker ever
January 11, 2011
By Craig, MA
Poorly written instruction manual and over priced product. I sent it back and was charged more than sixteen dollars to return it. I paid close to the cost of a comparable model in UPS fees alone. I tried two times with different rice products to get this cooker to produce an eatable rice, not happening. The rice came out hard and tasteless a problem that I have not had with the old fashion pan method. I returned the cooker and I am awaiting my refund to purchase a competitive brand locally that I read the instruction book for and feel confident it will produce the results I am looking for for half the price and no shipping charges.

I thoroughly enjoy using this product and I am considering buying a 2nd one.
It cooks differently than the older model rice cooker that I have had for over 20 years.
The rice has a crusty bottom to it that is very subtle. It seems to cook the rice more thoroughly and faster.

4 Best Value and Quality in Rice Cookers
October 29, 2008
By George, NC
What I like about this rice cooker is that it is solidly built and has enough flexibility so that you can use it as a steamer or modify the recipes ( like adding vegetables or chicken, etc.,) and prepare a variety of rice dishes other than plain rice. I have a smaller, fully automated Zojirushi Rice Cooker that is excellent for cooking rice without care, but since it is fully programmed by fuzzy logic it is not as versatile as this model. This manufacturer produces high quality appliances including bread machines.

This is my first rice cooker and I decided to buy the top of the line, simple
version. So far white rice and brown rice have come out perfect as well
as vegetables. I hit a bullseye with my frist try!

I had the fancy Zojirushi rice machine I paid $90.00 for. It finally broke so I replaced it with this model. It does the exact same job for lots less money! Great rice, easy clean-up.

2 Rice cooker

I wish there had been some time or temperature control. The rice was burned on the bottom and since there was no time control it was useless as a steamer.

By ELLI, NY
When i was looking purchased this pot, i wanted it to be as big possible. i got the 10 cup, but as it seems japanese cup is 160 cc, not like anywhere else where it is 200-250cc. i was a bit disapointed, but all and all, its a great piece.

Makes great rice. Added chicken broth to left over rice and rice tasted as good as first day made. Cooker has a tendency to 'spit' out liquid when cooking, but found most cookers do the same thing. All in all, a great rice cooker for the money.

This was the fourth rice cooker I purchased this holiday season. Two did not even work!! This one works and is very simple to operate. I also love the see thru lid, non-stick inner pan and removeable cord. Rice turns out fine everytime.

This is my first purchase of a rice maker. I recently started making sushi and needed a better way to make the rice. Making rice on a stovetop is very sensative and I was getting a lot of crunchy rice. I decided to get a rice maker and after doing some research bought the low end Zojirushi. It does not have any of the bells and whisles of the more expensive models, but I have made perfect rice for sushi every time I have used it. I was worried because some of the more expensive models have a sushi setting and settings for making other types of rice. This one only has on and off, and that is it. I found that there was no need to worry, the rice comes out perfectly just pushing on. It is very easy to make, and you can leave it for hours without burning. It also comes with a steamer tray. I have steamed vegatables and this works very well. I am very happy with my purchase and for my needs I do not see a reason to spend any more.
