Enjoying the Oven Thermometer I just purchased. The temperature numbers are large enough so they are easy enough for me to read. That was my main purpose in purchasing.

4 Not so hot.

I'm finding this thermomter to be questionable in its reading. Or as my son-in-law stated, "why are you trusting an $8 thermomter against a $2000 oven". So far its stating my oven is between 20 & 25 degrees off.

4 temperature

So far, the thermometer seems okay. The face is large and easy to read and it shows the temperature well, but the temperature drops if I open the oven door to stir and seems to stay down, so I'm not sure if it is reading correctly all the time!

2 Bought this to check the temp of my oven.

With each use, the thermometer sticks and does not return to the start until completely cool. Even then it takes a light tap. When changing temperatures, I must wait for the thermometer to cool, and then start over. This is a pain when I am cooking many different items, one after another in one day. I will be returning this item.

I bought this for my husband since is does the majority of the cooking. He loves it and now he never has to wonder if the oven temps are accurate or need to be adjusted. Great product for the price!

The Taylor thermometer has a 3-inch face with large numbers.
A great improvement on our old dinky, dirty TruTemp.

5 Right features

Only thermometer we could find with 3 crucial features: F + C temperature markings, large numbers, hook for hanging. We used one of these for years with no issues until we dropped it by accident. Hope the new one is as good as the old.

5 Good Thermometer
December 29, 2010
By Sandra, MN
This oven thermometer has nice big numbers that are easy to see. It seems to be very accurate in gauging temp in oven. At least my cookies didn't get burnt since I got this and realized my oven runs hot.

I had no idea my oven temperature was off until I used the oven thermometer. My turkey came out better than I ever cooked it! And at a lesser temperature.

It's simple to use and performs nicely. It's a good tool to have to gauge your oven temperature to make sure you're oven is functioning properly, particularly if, as in my case, the oven is quite old.

3 Thermometer used for the grill
February 13, 2009
By Marylee, CA
I used thermometer for grill since I didn't like it in the kitchen oven. It was too bulky. Works well for the Weber grill when I'm roasting meats & vegetables.

4 Does what it is meant to do!
January 19, 2009
By Patricia, GA
Recently purchased a new oven and I really didn't think it was heating to the set temp. This Thanksgiving it took an hour longer to cook the turkey. Put this thermometer in the oven, preheated the oven to 450- heat reached light came on the oven- however this little thermometer said the oven temp was 430. I turned the oven up to 470 and was able to cook my food at the correct temp! Yeah! Just what I needed- no more guessing.
