3 love being notified when water is ready

takes 2 hands to pour, lift whistle lid and hold onto pot. Should have gun type opener back to where you hold it to pull with finger of hand that is holding pot.

4 Best of what we've ever had
June 5, 2014
By Mark, NY
We go through teakettles like no one else so we're experts now. 1) We had a Kitchenaid (same design type) which splurted boiling water out the spout while pouring so this was a big issue. 2) The Rachel Ray unit doesn't spit, but the handle gets too hot to hold without an oven mitt. We put a silicone handle cover on it (red, of course) and solved the problem. 3) The whistle on other kettles didn't last long and led to their death by burning. We'll have to post another note if this happens to Rachel. 4) Not being too much of a slave to fashion, we're allowing for the red color to be slightly different than all of the other red appliances we have-- it is a dusty, more yellowish red than say, fire engine red, or Mr. Coffee red or Starbucks red (you get the idea).

4 Suggestion to improve design
February 4, 2014
By Anonymous, IL
The part I don't like about this tea kettle is that it's sort of hard to get the lid off. I know that a good seal is important, but it seems that the tightness of the fit of the lid could be decreased a bit without losing much of the seal

4 Red Curved Teakettle
December 14, 2013
By Myrl, MI
Overall I like this teakettle. If I have one complaint it would be that the silver ring around the mouth of the teakettle comes out it you pour the water out too quickly. I love the shape ad the color is true to the picture. I would of rat this product a 5 if I would not have so much trouble with the ring.

1 a hazard
November 3, 2011
By Helen, DE
the kettle's handle is too short that you have to stretch your hand and fingers to reach the handle of he whistler. The bottom is smooth and can easily be pushed off of electric coils, very dangerous. Sending it back, I never used it. I liked the color and really needed a teakettle but not one that is dangerous.

I love the color, the whistle and the shape. It is really cute sitting on my black gas stove in my red kitchen. My only criticism is the fact that the item description did not say that it was made in China. Following Rachel's network, ABC, my family is making a concerted effort to buy MADE IN AMERICA only. If it wasn't so cute, I nearly sent it back when I read the packaging box. I think we need to know this information before we make our purchases.
