5 Very easy to use.
October 4, 2014
By Anonymous, MD
This is the first food mill that I have had in years. I do like having different size screens to use depending on what foods I'm preparing. I can't wait to use it for jelly making with various berries. I would rather not have seeds. The product seems well made and is very easy to clean.

i read the reviews for this item, and almost did not order it. my old one had lost it's turning handle and hurt to use. i had been looking for a new one, but was being picky. some of the reviews said it didn't work well so i debated and looked at a lot of others. i kept coming back to this one. i finally decided to try it and love it. i used it today for the first time and it got every bit of meat out of my tomatoes. please try it for yourself.

4 Once you get the hang of it

I got this food mill for fruit when I make jams, I gave it a go for mashed potatoes but had a little difficulty keeping the peg locked in place. I think it was operator error though as I loaded too many cooked potatoes in at one time. I'll try it again, but know for sure it will work for my canning purposes as I intended.

5 The Best Kitcken Appliance

I recently ordered a second food mill for a very good friend. We have been canning tomato juice and she looks forward to putting the hot tomatoes through the food mill. She loves it. So, I thought, if one is good, two would be perfect. I love mine and have used it for potatoes, plums, etc. It is so easy to use, store, and keep clean.

The mashed potatoes I made with this wonderful contraption were simply fantastic. I have always used my mixer. I have definitely been using the wrong utensil. Awesome. I love it. I will try my hand at some homemade split pea soup next.

5 Oxo Good Grips Food Mill

This product is wonderful. It's so easy to use and to clean. I especially like the different discs for different textures. For years I've used a food strainer with a wooden pestle to make applesauce and tomato sauce, but this is much easier.

2 Didn't work like it should

I've only tried this product once for ricing mashed potatoes and I had problems. The product is very easy to put together but when trying to rice my boiled potatoes hardly and potatoes got riced without it clogging or coming apart. I had a much cheaper ricer that worked much better. I wish I still had the old one.

5 Plesantly Surprised
December 3, 2012
By Rachel, IL
I bought this food mill as the reviews were pretty good, it was dishwasher safe (top rack) and is a metal bowl with metal parts. Some of the reviewes on less expensive items were that the plastic melted with items that were too hot and that concerned me so I bought this one. I can say that it does handle hot food and cleans up super easy. I have been using it to get the moisture out of fresh cooked pumpkin for pie and pasta makign and could not believe how well it worked. I have also used it to make apple sauce and no longer have to grind the apples down by hand. My only regret is that I didn't make this purchase sooner!

4 Nice Food Mill
May 22, 2012
By Kevin, CO
We this mill for mashed potatoes and it does a great job! I like the fold down legs that rest on top of a pot. We drain the potatoes in a colander and then place the mill on top of the pot (it still is hot) and then put the potatoes in the mill for processing. With a little hot cream, sourcream, cream cheese or the like, you get outstanding mashed potatoes!!!

4 Easy to use and clean
April 16, 2012
By Terri, OR
I like the OXO food mill for ease of use and cleaning. I use my mill mainly for seeding tomatoes and this really works well. I had a plastic food mill before and I couldn't get the stains out. I love the fact that this one is dishwasher safe.
My only complaint is that it seems to take a long time to get the food through the mill; like it isn't tight enough to the plate.

4 Working in the kitchen with arthritis
March 30, 2012
By Nancy, KY
I work in a restuarant and have developed arthritis in my thumbs. I would love to develop kitchen utensils etc for the people in my age bracket that find themselves productive people in the work force but physically aging. The product I ordered a food mill was the answer to a task I found increasingly more painful to do because of my thumbs. We make homemade tomato soup and former employees were pushing the mixture through a sieve with a ladle. This was becoming almost impossible for me because of the pain and lack of mobility in my thumbs. If you make a model that is twice as big in circumference that would be even better. Thank you. Oh, if you know of a can opener that opens large cans that would be great too.

I bought this for canning this spring so I haven't used it yet but it's nice, reasonably heavy stainless steel. The pieces fit together nicely and operate smoothly. Like most OXO - good quality product
