Product Description:

Bakers know that the key to a perfect pie has a lot to do with the crust. Say good-bye to burnt edges using this handy Pie Crust Shield. It sits around any 8.5-in. or 9-in pie and allows edges to cook evenly. The result is a flaky crust without cracking or breaking. Light enough to leave your fluted edges intact and allow heat to circulate through for complete baking. Fits traditional 9" metal pie dish, good for all frozen and homemade pies.

Product Characteristics:

Material : Aluminun
Origin : USA
Size : 9x9x0.5-in.

5 9" Pie Crust Shield
April 11, 2014
By Donna, AZ
This is something I'm trying for the first time. Using foil half way thru baking time just never worked well for me. This works wonderfully for me. So happy to have also ordered the 10" Shield!

3 A little help to not burn
February 13, 2014
By Lynda, CA
I don't normally burn my pie crust but I was so tired of making aluminum foil covers around my pie that I thought I'd try these. Haven't yet but they certainly look like they'll do the job. Simple, nice and the right size. I had to measure before ordering because pie pans do come in several sizes.

5 Brown pie crust without burning.
February 1, 2014
By Thomas, AZ
I think the aluminum pie crust shield is long lasting and I won't have to ever buy another set. This is much better than trying to wrap the edges with aluminum foil/

2 too small
January 22, 2014
By Virginia, TX
I was disappointed that the 9" pie shield doesn't go on the outside of the pie plate. It rests on the inside and stands ABOVE the crust. Don't get a 9" pie shield for a 9" pie pan. It doesn't fit.

Best ever! Finally a sure fire and easy way to make the perfect pie. So much easier than wrapping foil around the crust. Allows you to present the perfect pie for family and guests. Works perfectly every time. No fail way for cooking custard or pecan pies. Love it !

3 PIE CRUST SHEILDS
January 31, 2013
By KAREN, NV
these are useful but pretty small 9", but actually they don't cover the crust because they outside edge is 9 inches and my pies with crust are slightly bigger than that. Otherwise they do a great job.

I ordered this in both sizes and look forward to making another pie. These are sturdy in construction without being stiff and will be really easy to use.

5 Shield for a Pie
October 9, 2012
By Joan, VA
I have been trying to find a 9 inch shield. I bought a 10 inch one but it was too big. I bought the 9 inch shield and it worked very well. I make pecan pies and the crust gets too dark. I had some that came in about 5 or 6 little shields. They didn't work and came off the pie. This one works just like it should.

Did a fine job and did not fall off or shift during baking, and removed without damage the crust.

For the low cost of this product, it works exceptionally well, covering the crust ends of your baking pie. I would definitely recommend this product.

4 Is 9" really 9"?
April 9, 2011
By Jodi, OR
Yes it is, but not every 9" pie dish is a 9" dish. Should have measured our new pie dish first. Oh, well!

3 Too small
January 15, 2011
By Patricia, MN
I would be perfectly happy if they were a little bigger. I have 9 inch pyrex pie plates and my crusts go right to the edge and I don't think these sheilds will fit.

5 Buy this product!
January 5, 2011
By Rebecca, PA
I used to use those little foil type pie crust shields and not only did they fall off, they got crust in the little creases and I just threw them out. When I saw these shields, I thought they might not work well but I was mistaken-they are wonderful. I baked two cherry pies for New Year's day and they came out perfect.

5 Thanksgiving
November 30, 2010
By Leslie, NY
I made 4 pies for Thanksgiving and the pie crust shield kept my crusts from burning. Previously, I wrapped the crust in foil and the foil constantly fell off. I would highly recommend this shield protector because it works!

5 Simple and effective
November 18, 2010
By Janet, IL
This is a valuable addition to a baker's collection. All pie recipes suggest you protect the crust from burning when baking, and this eliminates the need to wrap scraps of tin foil arond the hot pie. It is so much easier, and the price is right! It is not easy to find this product, either.
