Most garlic presses can press garlic. The beauty of this one is that it is so easily cleaned. Fine product!

The right tool makes the job of mincing garlic so easy! This garlic press is the last one you'll ever need to buy. Easy to use and a breeze to clean. It's dishwasher safe as well.

4 Almost perfect!

The only thing I found that I don't like is some of the garlic squirts "backwards" into the press and it's hard to get out of the hollow handle "tray". I've been a die hard Zyliss fan but decided to try this one and LOVE how easy this one is to clean. It presses large cloves easily, no need to peel and it's comfortable in my hand. Haven't had it long so not sure of its staying power.

It lived up to its billing as the best press according to "Cook's Illustrated." It works very well for fresh ginger as well. A bit of the pricey side and not as easy as some to clean, but all in all, worth it.

5 Easy, Fast, large capacity

I was hesitant to spend that much money on a garlic press, but it's by far the best one I've ever used. To make cleaning easy, do it right away or stick it in water right after you're done using it.

5 This is the best garlic press ever!
May 3, 2011
By Michael, MI
I have gone through several garlic presses, with handles breaking, the press mechanisms breaking, or the "cleaning" features falling off. Ihave not been happy since the one I got 13 years ago that was overused to death that just fell apart. I think it was an Oxo brand one, but I could not find a replacement. I tried 4 presses in the past 2 years and none did a very good job of pressing garlic.
With this Kuhn Rikon brand garlic press, there is no need to peel the cloves, and it is effortless to squeeze! For those of you that need to use two hands to get your current presses, switch to the best! It might cost more than your normal press, but this one works like you wouldn't believe, and I don't evision having to replace it for many many many years! It is top quality and is an amazing kitchen tool!!!

4 Best Garlic Press
March 31, 2011
By Karine, MI
I purchased this garlic press after Cooks Illustrated rated it the best. Its ergonomic design makes pressing even the largest, toughest clove of garlic a breeze. The perforated metal plate through which the garlic is pressed is hard to clean. It would have been nice to have a mechanism to "reverse press" against this plate to allow the fibrous garlic residue to be easily removed.
