Product Description:

Expect nothing less from KitchenAid. Enjoy the convenience of single serve coffee without the hassle of any pods, capsules, packs, special cups. It’s simple – your favorite ground coffee, however you like it, whenever you want it. Good coffee shouldn’t be so complicated.
Slim and tall design fits almost any space and the easy one-touch brewing system is great for quick brewing. Fans will appreciate the sleek look and the resemblance to the iconic KitchenAid Stand Mixer. This personal coffee maker offers exceptional performance with an optimized brew process. The vertical placement of the heating element provides hot water at a consistent temperature for extraction and better coffee taste. The unique thermal mug lid design can be used as a travel mug or pour like a traditional carafe. The removable top-load water tank holds from 8-18-oz. of water and is easily accessible. The water tank handle makes it easy to fill from any angle. Convenient front-loading brew basket swings out and features a gold tone permanent filter. Great tasting coffee starts with fresh water and the right equipment.
Brewing Coffee - A good starting point is 1-2 Tbsp. of ground coffee for every 6-oz. of water marked on the water tank. Finer grinds usually require less coffee but may also produce a bitterness and clog the filter. For a weaker coffee, brew using the suggested ratio of coffee grounds and water, then dilute with hot water. This maximizes the flavor and minimizes the bitterness. A tone will sound when the coffee is finished brewing. The high-performance Gold Tone filter eliminates the need for paper coffee filters. If preferred, #2 Cone paper coffee filters can be used in place of the Gold Tone filter. The brew basket and the Gold Tone filter are dishwasher safe, top rack only. Full length cord storage neatly hidden in the back of the machine and keeps excess cord out of the way.

  • Optimized Brew Process for Superior Coffee Extraction
  • Removable Top Load Water Tank with Integrated Handle
  • One-Touch Brewing

  • Includes Gold Tone Filter
  • Easy-Access Front Loading Brew Basket

5 An ideal Valentine's Day gift
February 20, 2014
By Lori, FL
The streamlined modern design of this coffee maker first caught my eye. It was the perfect gift for my husband's office. It's simple to use and fast, and best of all, the liquid is super-hot, not lukewarm or scalding. The travel mug is lightweight, yet substantial enough to keep its contents fresh for a long time. Would recommend this item over other popular single-serve brands.

Great for weekend coffee time. Just enough. I normally drink 1-2 cups and I don't want to make more than 2 cups. Simple, easy to clean.

3 Too many negatives.
December 16, 2013

We purchased this product 3 months ago and over the Thanksgiving week when we had out of town company staying with us (we showed them how to use this coffeemaker as they are up earlier than we are) and it died. I called Kitchen Aid as it is under warranty. They suggested that I should clean it out once a month by running vinegar through it to keep the water deposits from damaging the machine. That it probably was the cause of the problem. I had done that to no avail. They sent me a replacement which we received last week and we noted that once a month we must run a vinegar rinse through it. The cons are: I don't think the coffee is quite hot enough. I had a hard time hearing the beeper that signals when coffee is done brewing, although the new one is louder. The coffee maker continues to drip a little for a while after coffee is brewed and light goes off so I keep a paper towel on the cup stand. I use a funnel in the opening for pouring in the water as the cup is always dribbling out water down the side. (May be me) We gave one to my son for his birthday before ours stopped working. I hope he has better luck. The pros are: My husband and I drink different brews. Caffeine and half Caff. We can make our coffee stronger as we like and not so strong for company if that is their choice. It is attractive. It is convenient in that you can personalize how many ounces of coffee you want to make for yourself. It is less expensive to make coffee in this vs. the Keurig although we do have a keurig cup. (who wants to clean that? Harder than the Kitchenaid to clean). One reason I purchased this is that it is a Kitchenaid product. They stand behind their guarantees and are very pleasant to deal with. They sent me a new machine and a free shipping label to return the bad one. There was no arguing. I have dealt with them before on a product and it was just as pleasant then.

4 Ok, but not perfect
November 19, 2013
By Roberta, NY
I was disappointed to find that there was no button to select which size cup is being brewed. There are pictures on the side of the water tank, but because the plastic is dark, it's difficult to see how much water is in it. Whatever you put in, comes out, so it took several tries to figure out how much coffee and water would brew a good cup. I figured out that I have to pour the water into the cup I'm using and dump that into the reservoir. I'm the only coffee drinker in the house, so it's working for me, but I would hesitate to recommend it to anybody with more than one coffee drinker in the house.

4 Overall good coffee maker
October 23, 2013
By Linda, TX
The unit works well, but the filters are about a 1/4 inch too big for the holder. Ypu have to be careful when closing the grounds into the unit so the filter does not fall over. It brews well and is handy for just one mug to go. I like it when I do not want to make a whole pot of coffee at any time, not just on my way to work. I'm happy I got it and it is a good addition to my kitchen needs.

5 One cup Wonder

By Xavier, NY
The item is exactly as presented. The Item is easy to use, cleans up easily, and has a very small counter footprint. Coffee perks up quickly and hot. Thermal mug addition was very key for us in buying this. We us it at the office, and it already saving us time and money.

5 Tired of the old coffee maker taking up count
August 13, 2013
By Robert , AZ
We drink a cup of coffee a day each, when we made coffee in our old maker we always seemed to make a full pot and poured out most of it, we just stoped using it all together. With this one cup maker it takes up less room on the counter, is attractive and my wife loves it. The maker can make up to a full 20 oz if wanted or less, thats me, about 12 oz's at a time.

4 Love a fresh cup of coffee or tea
August 7, 2013
By Valerie, NM
I love the option of brewing a fresh cup of coffee or tea on demand. This pot is quick, hot and the beverages have all been delicious. I haven't used the mug yet but do intend to soon. Love the removable water basin to put under the reverse osmosis faucet. I'm kind of partial to Kitchen Aid products.

I love it I don't drink coffee, but I love to make coffee for my lady, she used a French Press, too many steps. I did not like it. With the KitchenAid coffee maker add water, coffee, hit start, she is ready to go!
